Beyond the inclusion
Beyond the Inclusion showcases the exciting outcome of an interdisciplinary approach to lighting design and fabrication. Viewed through the lenses of our respective practices, it looks to deliver a sustainable, low-energy, ambient lighting solution offering a deeper connection between the natural and manmade environments. A visceral response to the growing issue of light pollution and the rise of the ‘mega city’.
Evoking warmth, comfort and more sensitive transitions, the work is informed by our shared experiences of city life in contrast to the designers' rural upbringings in Iceland and the UK.

The new collection offers an exciting first glimpse of possibilities through a unique blend of recycled glasses and ceramic waste. Showcasing the innovative process we have developed which fuse recycled glass and ceramic waste sourced from our own studio space and construction industries close to our respective homes.

The result showcases a blend of traditional ceramic techniques and ‘cast-in-place’ methods usually used by jewellers to set gemstones directly into molten metal.
These research findings, along with initial prototypes were unveiled at AS WE GROW during ICELANDIC DESIGN MARCH in 2025.
